Gold for Chasing Venus and More Medals at Dan Berger’s International Wine Competition

by: Ashley Johnson

Matchbook Wine Company continued its award-winning wine trend, walking away with 11 medals from Dan Berger’s International Wine Competition, including a Gold medal for its 2015 Chasing Venus Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The international wine competition, formerly the Riverside International Wine Competition, began in 1982 as an affiliate of the California State Fair system and retains 32 internationally respected wine judges of the highest caliber.

“The name no longer reflects the local farmers’ fair as it started out. It’s been a long time since it was just a small, regional event,” said Berger.
