It’s Soup Season

by: Virginia Valdez Sandfer

Matchbook Picnicking Guide: Tip #2

We’ve partnered with our friends at A Well Stocked Home and Greg Chapman, our in-house foodie and Tasting Room associate, to bring you a series of picnicking tipsThis month we are celebrating SOUP Season!

Fill a thermos with a hearty soup, stew or chili such as butternut squash soup or spicy turkey chili. Baguettes and crackers are easy to travel with – serve alongside your soup. Our go-to is a bowl of Aush Soup from House of Shah! This delicious, tomato-based soup is full of flavor. Made with noodles, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, dill, mint, yogurt and seasoned ground beef, it pairs perfectly with our Tinto Rey Verdejo.

Picnic doesn’t always mean paper! Owners of A Well Stocked Home, Rosemarie and Kelly, encourage you to ditch the paper plates and opt for a decorative ceramic bowl and a wooden serving spoon. Their store lives up to its name and is chock full of beautiful and unique items to personalize your picnic!

Perfect Pairings:
