When people come to Matchbook for the first time, their very vocal observation is that we are way out here. This is true. 1,500 acres of grapes need some serious space. Our rolling hills are planted with the usual varieties – chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, petite sirah – and some that are little bit of a surprise – tempranillo, graciano, tannat and verdejo. The list goes on and it is growing. We like to experiment with different grapes, finding the right combination to make our wines bigger, bolder, and tastier. Every Matchbook wine label states, “Blended for Greater Flavor”. Like all great wines, those flavors start in the vineyards.
