Our Cellar

Thirty-five years ago the California wine world offered two simple choices, high-end wines from Napa/Sonoma and cheap, jugs from the Central Valley. The Giguiere family vineyards were planted smack in the middle of the two growing regions and to us the choice was clear: combine the boutique winemaking techniques of our neighbors to the west with the economics of the valley to the east. R.H. Phillips and Toasted Head wines were founded on this philosophy and our family continues the tradition today with Matchbook Wine Company. We are real farmers, use real barrels, practice hands-on winemaking and have a crazy passion for innovation. There is such a thing as artisan wines at a value price. We are East of Napa, Left of Center.
